On a small island facing the open sea on the Sunnmøre coast, a creative and resourceful man named Karl Longva started a mechanical workshop in Larsnes in 1916. This is why the shipyard community in Larsnes can draw on traditions of repairs and shipbuilding dating back to the 19th century. Since then, there has been continuous activity on the island.
“Craftsmanship is what we thrive on. The shipyard is strategically located within the maritime cluster and with the shipping lane and the open sea as neighbors.”
